Airblue to begin operations soon ('The News'- May 12, 2004 )

KARACHI: Airblue will start operations soon on domestic routes with an initial investment of Rs500 million, said Syed Nasir Ali, Director Marketing of the airline.

He was speaking at the inaugural session of a training workshop for travel agents here on Tuesday.

He said that any person who had access to Internet could get reservation from the website with PNR numbers and take the print, which was acceptable even in the airport restricted area.

In other words, "our operation is absolutely paperless," he said.

The management had planned eight such workshops, he informed, adding four workshops would be held in Karachi, two in Lahore and two in Rawalpindi and Islamabad.

The objective of the workshops was to build an understanding among all stakeholders of the airline, which was different in its operations compared to other airlines of the country, he said.
