Airblue introduces innovative e-ticketing technology (Pakistan Observer- May 20, 2004 ) Islamabad - Pakistan's newest domestic airline AIRBLUE introduced its latest and innovative web based e-technology to members of the Travel Agents Association of Pakistan (TAAP) in Islamabad recently. A large number of travel agents eager to get acquainted with the airline's online superior reservations services attended the full-day workshop, which was facilitated by Syed Nasir Ali, Director Commercial, Zahid Saleem Khan, Regional Head TAAP (Rawalpindi Chapter) Armaan Yahya, District manager Islamabad/Rawalpindi and Ms. Sadaf Ali, Manager Systems Support & Ticketing, Air Blue. Armaan Yahya, while presenting to the participants said, "The objective of the workshop was to introduce the new product and give an insight on the making of an airline and inform about Airblue's unique system of operations, which allows reservations to be made on the airline's website." Syed Nasir Ali while addressing the people from the travel industry said, "It is a great day for travel agents and domestic travelers in Pakistan. We are redefining air travel and introducing a new travel experience with the arrival of Airblue. By building on value-added features in travel service offerings, Airblue sees high growth opportunities in Pakistan. The launch schedule of the end of May with its three new generation Airbus A-320 aircraft, intends on changing travel experiences of the people of Pakistan. We are confident Airblue with its superior travel offerings and convenient frequency of flights will become an airline of choice for all discerning travelers." Appreciating and welcoming the new airline, Zahid Saleem Khan of TAAP (Rawalpindi Chapter) said, "I on behalf of TAAP assure Airblue of all the support and believe that in its astute leadership, the new airline will achieve many milestones." MS. Sadaf Ali shared the airline's unique reservations and ticketing procedures with the ticketing executives and said, "We are proud to be the first in Pakistan's aviation industry to introduce the convenience of e-ticketing, wireless check-in and all features of comfort and innovation existing in the sophisticated travel markets of the world." Airblue is a superior quality domestic airline of Pakistan. It is a public limited company, soon to be on the Karachi Stock Exchange. With an Rs 6.0 Billion infrastructure infusion in the aviation industry, the airline is the first to introduce e-commerce in the Indo-Pak Aviation history. |
