AirBlue Carries 10,000 Passengers on its Islamabad-Manchester Flights

ISLAMABAD: AirBlue, Pakistan's fastest growing airline, Friday recognized the 10,000th passenger on its Islamabad - Manchester route with a simple and dignified ceremony held at Islamabad International airport.

Pakistan's airline of first choice, AirBlue, started the first long-haul operation ever by a private Pakistani airline to Europe with 4 weekly Flights from Islamabad to Manchester on June-01 this year.

Amid swift popularity of the airline – in the private sector and keeping in view the rising number of the voyagers – an additional flight was added in late June to increase capacity on the route to 5 flights – in a week.

The conveniently scheduled flights from both Islamabad and Manchester, and personalized service has enabled AirBlue to capture substantial market share on the route; and in a short span of 14 weeks it has carried over 10,000 passengers on the Islamabad to Manchester sector.

The 10,000th passenger was Ms. Sara Latif, a resident of Sialkot who was leaving to pursue higher studies in Finance at Birmingham University. The surprised passenger was presented with 2 Return Business Class Manchester-Islamabad tickets and a model of the AirBlue Airbus A321 aircraft by the airblue Islamabad District Manager, Mr. Saeed Hassan.

AirBlue plans extensive growth in its operations with the purchase of 14 new-generation aircraft providing additional frequencies to existing destinations and opening of new routes in the Domestic, Middle Eastern, and European markets, said a press communiqué – received by Pakistan’s first multilingual ISSN-certified independent daily E-newspaper ‘Pakistan Times’ – from the admired and acknowledged airline AirBlue on Friday.

The airline also plans to start flights on the Islamabad to Lahore route in November, and to increase its flights from Islamabad to Manchester to a daily frequency in December this year.
